At Abide Women's Health Services, we provide comprehensive clinical care to our clients during the critical subacute postpartum period, defined as up to 6 weeks after birth. Our midwives offer personalized care tailored to ensure the health and well-being of both the parent and the newborn during this important time.
We provide comprehensive care up to 6 weeks after birth, ensuring that both parent and newborn receive the support they need during this critical period. Our team of Black midwives conducts thorough assessments, including checking vitals, examining the abdomen, and evaluating the parent's overall mental state. This care includes discussions on topics like breastfeeding, postpartum bleeding, nutrition, emotional well-being, and assessments of the newborn's feeding habits, output, and sleep patterns.
Postpartum doulas provide emotional support and guidance to help reduce the risk of postpartum depression and anxiety. They encourage and assist you in processing your birth experience while watching for signs of perinatal mood disorders.
Breastfeeding can be challenging, but our doulas are trained experts. They offer hands-on assistance, education, and encouragement to help you establish and maintain a successful breastfeeding routine for you and your baby.
Proper postpartum care is essential for healing after childbirth. Our doulas educate you on self-care strategies, provide practical support with household tasks, and ensure you get adequate rest and nutrition for a smoother, faster recovery.
