Meanwhile, Tiffany Washington, our Donor Relations Specialist, and Krystle Thomas, our Client Resource Specialist, attended the Not My Son Gala. Tiffany shares her reflection on the event:

“It was a beautiful evening and an honor to be in a room with community partners and supporters who share the love of South Dallas, and marginalized people. Not my Son DFW is a Black women led organization, that serves the South and East Dallas community, providing resources and support where there is a need. They do this through Civic Enagagment, Social Acitivism and Community Engagement. Since its conception in June 2020, Tramonica Brown, Founder of Not My Son, supporters, and partners have proudly served and impacted over 10,000 residents in the DFW area through their various initiatives. The injustice is that our communities need organizations and partners like Not My Son, the beauty is in the number of people and organizations partnering together to rise up against the injustices our communities are facing! Congratulations are definitely in order to Tramonica for a beautiful and successful gala honoring the very important work of Dallas community partners and leaders.”

From the Executive Team

Lenita, our Vice President of Operations, shares her thoughts on her work with Abide since joining us full time in June:

“Watching the clinic team serve makes me go harder in my role as VP of Operations. The way they pour out to the community warms my heart. I’m reminded how the Abide team volunteered their time during my first week of work to help out victims of the apartment fire. It was all hands on deck — after their work shifts, they came and worked in the community to serve as needed, packing lunches, passing out food and clothes, or helping with the relocation efforts. From that point, I knew this particular team is special and I’m honored to serve their needs in operations.”

Here’s to 2023!! Happy Holidays!
